On March 26th, the Graphic Arts Society held a seminar entitled “Seven-color printing and the latest development of outletsâ€. This seminar invited Mr. Marc De Mey from Artwork Systems of Europe to introduce two kinds of development for them. The latest technology - "Equinox seven color separation system" and "Paragon, Organic, Concentric network technology", and the Asia-Pacific market business manager Kenny Chan real-time translation and explanation.
New concept of multicolor printing
Equinox is a seven-color color separation system that uses a unique color math program to complement their process system and expands the color gamut of printing. Why use seven colors? They believe that the color gamut produced by CMY in general four-color printing is too thin, so adding orange, green, and purple blue will expand the color gamut. This system is based on the working principle of the ICC Profile. It uses the standard 4-color test target ECI 2002 (containing 1485 color blocks), and adds three orange, green, and blue colors to form a total of 5940 color patch combinations for the four test targets.
This set of software has two very good features that take into account the simplification of dot combinations when emulating spot colors in multiple colors, making printing more stable. Another function is to add other three colors as required by the image. For example, when adding orange, the color of the human body can be controlled without adding orange; the pure grass part is added with green, the purple flowers with purple blue and the sky blue without.
The Equinox Expanded Gamut Separation System includes two sites: ArtPro site license, Nexus or Odystar site license, and PhotoShop plugin. The initial pricing is 65,000 euros.
Unusual dot technology
Paragon, Organic, and Concentric are used in conjunction with Artwork Systems' Nexus and Odystar process systems. Paragon AM's unique Rosette-LockTM web technology makes visually smoother. In addition, Paragon AM also uses the precision dot placement and frequency shifting techniques to remove the impact net generated by the red and yellow versions of the 15 degree screen angle. Paragon AM dot shapes include Round, Euclidean, Eillptical, and Diamond.
Organic is an FM spot technology that uses a second arrangement to make it visually smoother. Organic contains a variable micro-dot size that gives a more detailed image. Fixed micro-dots can also be used to make printing more stable. This network not only makes the image more detailed, but also improves the chroma. Organic outlets are available in 10, 20, 25, and 30 micron options.
Concentric is a mixed design network technology for AM and FM networks. It also has the advantages of detailed FM sites and smooth AM sites. People's perception of the regular arrangement of the texture will be smoother, and even the best FM net design will have a less smooth feel on the flat screen or the smooth flesh-colored part. Therefore, Concentric outlets basically adopt the arrangement of AM networks, but the use of concentric circles will change the composition of outlets more meticulously.
Concentric mixed design network technology
CTP technology, FM outlets, and Multi-Color printing are the elements that make up high-precision print performance, and all prepress equipment manufacturers continue to evolve around these technologies.
