How laser printing products release dust

With the continuous improvement of living standards, we pay more attention to our own health problems. Especially for the working people who use laser printing products every day, their environmental pollution and unhealthy health are gradually accepted by everyone. The following editor will explain to everyone from a professional perspective how laser printing products affect the environment when they are working?

Talking about how laser printers have an adverse impact on the environment, first of all we will start with the working principle of laser printing products. When the laser printer is in operation, it can be divided into 7 steps: charging, exposure, development, transfer, fixing, cleaning, and electricity elimination.

Charging process

The photoconductor material on the surface of the photosensitive drum of the laser printer is an insulator in the absence of light, and it is in a neutral state without any electric charge. To realize the "electrostatic latent image" on the surface of the photoconductor, it must be charged on the surface of the photoconductor to make it charged. Only in this way, when the laser beam is scanned onto the photoconductor, the exposed spot of the photoconductor is turned on to form a beam lattice. The lattice charge is connected to the substrate to form a "potential difference latent image". When the photosensitive drum rotates to a position tangent to the developing magnet roller, the toner loaded on the magnet roller with the opposite charge property to the surface of the photoconductor is attracted to the surface of the photosensitive drum. Thus, a toner image appears on the photosensitive drum.

To make the photosensitive drum absorb the toner according to the graphic information, the toner cartridge should be charged first. The charging electrode is a tungsten wire parallel to the photosensitive drum axis, with a DC high voltage of 5-7kV on it. When the tungsten wire is very close, the surrounding air is ionized to produce a corona discharge, which charges the photosensitive drum. The plus or minus of the voltage is determined by the voltage carried by the tungsten wire. If the photoconductive material is a selenium-tellurium alloy, it is charged positively. After the photosensitive drum rotates once, the entire surface is charged.

The method of charging the photosensitive drum by the laser printer is different due to different models, but the charging principle is basically the same, and the surface of the photosensitive drum is charged by DC high-voltage corona discharge.

During the entire charging process, the photosensitive drum absorbs the charged toner, which is the stage most likely to have an impact on the environment. In this link, if the user is using compatible consumables or filling toner, it is easy to cause the toner to be emitted into the air with the adsorption process, and this released toner is an extremely small particle This kind of particles can enter our lungs with our breathing, and will affect our health in the long run.

Development process

When the electrostatic latent image formed on the surface of the photosensitive drum is developed to show the toner image, this process is "development". The development work is completed by the developer, and its function is to change the electrostatic latent image into a visible image.

When we put the printing paper into the machine, the printing paper will be fully charged before contacting the photosensitive drum. When the printing paper is in contact with the photosensitive drum, the electrostatic latent image with positive charge will attract each other with the negative charge on the printing paper, thereby attaching to the printing paper, and heating the thermal transfer unit to make the outer ring of toner particles and paper The fibers are adsorbed and the printed image is eventually formed. Finally, the printer will automatically remove the remaining toner on the photosensitive drum and normalize the potential so that the next cycle begins.

During the second-stage development process, the thermal transfer unit and the photosensitive drum remove toner, which may cause toner leakage. Especially in the thermal transfer unit, users who use compatible toner cartridges and powder filling are more dangerous. As the temperature of the thermal transfer unit increases, not only does the toner leak out, it is also more likely to cause the generation of more harmful gases, thereby causing greater damage to the human respiratory tract and lungs.

After understanding the hazards of laser-printed products, we should take more measures to deal with the hazards that laser-printed products may cause to our health.
