Germany developed a new purple material process

In September 2003, Germany introduced a new process for producing purple pigments. The process effectively improves the original process and eliminates the use of organic solvents and organic-inorganic reducing agents in production, and the firing temperature is greatly reduced. According to reports, the process is mainly based on the low melting point glass frit, a very small amount of gold content and the precipitant added as needed. When it is necessary to adjust to a purple color or the like, silver nitrate, silver carbonate, silver alcoholate, and the like can also be added.
Its production process is dry process and wet process two kinds: The dry method is that the glass frit mixes with the gold compound and grinds directly, heat treatment at 300 °C, make the gold compound become colloidal gold. In the wet method, an aqueous solution of a gold compound is sprayed or mixed with an aqueous solution in a glass frit to prepare a suspension, precipitate, filter, wash, and heat treatment at 300°C. The resulting purple pigments are particularly suitable for decorative coloring of ceramic tiles, crafts, and ceramics for daily use and glass.
