Clariant's new black mother-assisted PP carpet yarn

Recently, Clariant, the world's leading specialty chemicals manufacturer, has introduced a new black masterbatch. The new product is crafted from Clariant Cool Black technology and has excellent cooling capabilities that will be used in carpet textile production.

Despite its black appearance, this color master, called REMAFIN®Cool Black, absorbs visible light and is comparable to standard color masters in terms of color variations. It is reported that with the continuous advancement of commercialization, this new color master will gradually replace the application of carbon black mother in many fields.

According to Clariant, REMAFIN® Cool Black is the ideal material for the production of outdoor and deck carpet yarns. Compared with the traditional color masterbatch, this new black color master has a strong cooling capacity. Therefore, the carpet made of this material will not be very hot on the surface even if it is exposed to the sun. The researchers said that this masterbatch can also be mixed with other resins other than PP, such as PA, polyester, etc. to produce clothing and textiles.

REMAFIN® Cool Black Masterbatch will be mass produced at the Clariant Dalton plant in the United States. For many years, the plant has been focusing on the production of masterbatch for fiber. In order to support the research and development of the new color masterbatch, Clariant deliberately built a large laboratory in the factory. The laboratory has a special fiber production line for testing newly developed masterbatch samples.
