Two examples of troubleshooting for commercial rotary presses

1. There are ink particles and paper wool on the printed matter

Trouble phenomenon: When printing stamps with one color, there are ink particles and paper wool adhesion phenomena ranging from 0.5mm to 2mm in diameter on the arc line of the stamp.

After inspection, the ink and paper powder on the blanket and the printing plate are thick, and the white edge of the paper powder is serious at the position corresponding to the paper edge of the blanket. The preliminary judgment was caused by loose paper. After scrubbing the blanket and the printing plate, the machine speed printing was slowed down. The problem was not completely solved. The same problem reappeared about an hour later. So the main reason for judgment is ink. Using an ink knife to draw out the ink tank and found that the ink flow is very poor, so add 0 # ink adjustment oil leveling (about 30%), restart the machine, the problem no longer exists.

Cause of failure: long-term printing, the ink in the ink tank becomes poor in fluidity, and the viscosity is large, which causes the ink to easily granulate and adhere to paper powder.

Note: The machine must diligently draw the ink fountain for a long time, and add appropriate additives to improve the performance of the ink if necessary.

2. Excess ink lines appear on the printed product

Symptom: An extra ink line appears in the form when printing a bill.

The inspection found that the ink line does not appear at the gripping position of the printing plate, excluding the gripping and blanket factors; the whole version of the graphic is clear, there are no other stains, and the dirty version is excluded; checking the ink, the ink roller is seriously accumulating ink, and the ink volume is initially judged Big. So wash the printing plate and blanket, close the ink roller and print again, the ink line appears again after a few minutes. Wash the ink, reapply less ink, slightly reduce the amount of fountain solution, and then turn on the machine to solve the problem.

Cause of failure: The ink roller is too large, the pressure on the printing plate is heavy when inking, and a thick ink line is hit on the plate surface. Although the fountain solution has washed away some of the ink, it cannot wash the firmly adhered ink line completely go with.

Note: It is advisable to use small amounts of ink and water when inking the rotary machine, and add more if it is insufficient. Don't avoid heavy ink and water at the beginning, causing serious emulsification of ink and other failures.
