Bayer Medical Polycarbonate Film Launched

Recently, Bayer MaterialScience AG has developed a polycarbonate film that can withstand gamma radiation and electron beam radiation with a special additive system. The film is extruded from a special polycarbonate matrix clone and meets the international standards related to the biocompatibility of plastics. It can be in contact with body fluids and muscle tissue for up to 30 days. At the same time, the polycarbonate also meets the criteria for biocompatibility of the US standard "United States Pharmacopoeia" level 6. The material also produces a blood heat exchanger top cover, whose high transparency means that blood flow can be quickly visualized with the naked eye at any time. In addition, the film possesses the unique mechanical properties of polycarbonate, which makes the heat exchanger and other products made of this material extremely stable.
