A good print requires good design, good printing plate, good ink, good material, good machine, good technology, etc. So how does a good film print come about?

First, the quality of a product depends largely on the design of the product. Each printing method has unique printing characteristics. For example, offset printing has the advantages of small dot expansion, high registration accuracy, and soft dot gradient. When designing, it does not pay much attention to the design of text or gradient. If such a design is used for flexographic printing, it will be difficult. First of all, it is a weak point of flexo printing that small texts are overprinted. Flexo printing is inferior to offset printing in registration accuracy, and the phenomenon of bilateral text will appear. In addition, because the expansion of dots is larger than offset printing, especially dot printing in highlights, it will increase the difficulty of plate making and printing.

However, the ink layer of offset printing is thin, which is a weakness of it. Conversely, the strength of flexo printing is the thick ink layer, suitable for large area solid printing. Therefore, for the design of flexo products, we need to avoid the following points:

· Small text and thin lines;
· Lines or text that are overprinted in two or more colors;
· Small reverse text or reverse lines;
· The picture is off with high light, or 1% small outlet;
· Make lines and text in Photoshop software;
· Design wide and long bars and ground along the horizontal direction of the printing cylinder;
· Avoid long and wide gradient design in the printing direction;
· Large-area field is on the same page with the outlets and small text;
· Inconsistent operating software;

Because different materials are affected by tension and drying during printing, different degrees of expansion and contraction will occur, so you need to pay attention to the imposition or paper direction of the product when designing. Because of the inappropriate printing direction, it will adversely affect the product registration.

The film material itself is easy to expand and contract, which requires higher tension control for printing and higher requirements for the drying system. At present, the equipment for printing thin film products in domestic flexo printing machines is basically a satellite type or a laminated type. The width of the satellite machine is wide, and the film material is stretched by tension, which requires that the pressure should be appropriately increased during printing. If it is a traditional printing plate, after the pressure is increased, the sample as a whole will produce a larger place in the highlight. Expansion, 2% of the dots will expand to 10% to 14%, such highlights look a bit dark, and it is easy to form a hard mouth phenomenon at the gradual transition. The laser version can make up for this deficiency. For film products, special treatment should be performed on color separation, and a reasonable process should be worked out to show the advantages of flexo printing.

At present, the number of lines of domestic satellite machine printing products is basically 80 to 120 lines. If the network cable products are printed using traditional flexographic printing, the printed results are not very fine. On the one hand, it is affected by the lower number of lines, and on the other hand, it is due to the larger expansion of the traditional flexo. If laser flexo printing is used, the printed product will look much finer due to the small dot expansion.

The stability of the printing material is also very important. The hardness of the film will also have a certain effect on the adhesion of the printing ink. The high-density film material is not particularly good for inking, and the softer film material is better for inking.

The printing house should formulate a reasonable printing process according to the characteristics of different printing materials, and effectively record the data of each printed product to ensure that the quality of the printed matter will be consistent with the previous one when the order is produced next time.
