Packing Technology (I)

The box is used as a packaging container and is usually used for transportation and packaging. It is an outer package. The shape of the box and the box is similar, and it is customary to use a small box or a large box. There is no obvious boundary between them. It is only that the box has poor structural strength, and some additional measures are required (such as lining and spacing inside the box). Plates, etc.) to enhance the positioning of the interior of the box and cushion vibration isolation. Boxing technology refers to the fact that for products that have been completed in small packages, they are not damaged during transportation, they are easy to store and transport, and small packaged products are packed into boxes in a certain way, and the technology for sealing the port is good.
There are many types and forms of boxes, which can be divided into wooden boxes, plywood boxes, fiberboard boxes, cardboard boxes, corrugated boxes, calcium plastic corrugated boxes, and plastic turnover boxes. Among them, for long-term storage, the use of corrugated cartons is the largest for transport in a large area; for temporary storage, circulation in a small area, the plastic turnover box for the most. All of them have the advantages of light weight and low cost. This section mainly describes the packing technology of corrugated boxes.
First, the basic form of corrugated carton Corrugated carton is divided into folding, fixed and different forms of three. The most commonly used is folding. There are six basic types of folding corrugated boxes, as shown in Figure 10-4. Among them, universal slotted box is the most widely used. Internationally known as the RSC box (Regular Slotted Case), in the international fiberboard box code is 0201, see Figure 10-4 (a). Most of these boxes are open up and down, but also open sideways. It consists of a piece of corrugated cardboard that is folded after die cutting and creasing. The sides are bonded or stapled. The RSC box serves as a saving material for the rectangles and squares. Therefore, its size characteristics are: the length of the fins and cover sheet perpendicular to the crease; its length is half the width of the carton. With such a size structure, the formed box blank is a rectangular corrugated cardboard sheet, and there is no corner material left after slitting, and the material utilization rate is the highest. At the same time, after the two lid sheets are closed, the openings are completely covered.

Second, the packing method Packing and packing methods are similar, but the packing of the product is heavier, the volume is also large, there are some shockproof, reinforced and isolated until the attachment, the box size is large, stacking it is also heavier, so loading The process of the box is more than the box, and the equipment used is also complicated.
1. According to the mode of operation, (1) manual packing, the box blank is first opened into a tube shape, and then the fins and the cover sheet at one opening are folded and sealed together as the bottom of the box; the product is loaded from the other opening, If necessary, put into shockproof, reinforcement and other materials; final sealing. Sealing with adhesive tape can be done manually. If there is a production line or the output is large, a sealing and gluing machine should be used. The use of strapping to seal the boxes generally uses a strapping machine, which saves the joint hoop and plastic tape when compared to manual strapping, and has a high efficiency.
(2) Semi-automatic and full-automatic operation packing Most of the movements of such machines are intermittent movements, and some high-speed automatic packing machines also use continuous movement. Semi-automatic operation packing, take box blanks, open the box, back cover are manual operation.
2. According to the product loading method (1) The loading method can be loaded into the vertical box along the vertical direction. The machine used is called vertical box loading machine; the product can also be placed horizontally along the horizontal direction. Inside the box or open side of the box, the machine used is called a horizontal box loader.
a. Vertical packing is generally applicable to round and non-circular packaging products made of glass, plastic, metal, and fiberboard packaging containers, either in discrete or grouped packages. Widely used in various commodities, such as beverages, alcohol, food, glassware, petrochemical products and daily chemicals.
Common vertical case packers are intermittently typed and are limited in their ability to increase speed. In order to increase the speed, some of them are designed to be multi-row, that is, on the same box packing machine, the speed can be increased to 60 boxes/min when loading a few boxes at a time; a new type of vertical continuous packing machine is suitable for bottles or cans. Product loading, productivity up to 75 boxes / min, but should not change the product variety.
The operation process is shown in Figure 10-5. The product is transported above the empty conveyor belt. There is a group of grippers and the product to be boxed move at the same speed. After reaching the specified position, the product is clamped and gradually descends to load the product. Inside the box, then release to return; another set of holders box the next set of products. Such a continuous cycle, without stopping the box.

b. Packing in the horizontal direction is suitable for filling symmetrically shaped products (circular, square, etc.). The packing speed is low speed and medium speed, generally 10-25 boxes/min, and the maximum is not more than 30 boxes/min. The horizontal packing machines for horizontal packing are intermittent operations, and are semi-automatic and fully automatic. Semi-automatic packing requires empty containers to be placed manually, with a packing speed of 10 to 12 boxes/min and rarely reaching 20 boxes/min. Automatic packing requires setting up the box blanks, unpacking and product stacking devices.
See Figure 10-6 (a) to (f) for the operation of the automatic bagging machine.
(a) Remove a flattened box blank from the blank storage rack;
(b) Spread the box blanks horizontally into a horizontal cylinder;
(c) send the tank to the loading position and close the fins at the bottom of the tank;
(d) Push the product horizontally into the box and close the fins of the box;
(e) Apply glue to the inside of the bottom of the box and the cover flaps;
(f) Close all covers and press firmly. The bonding adhesive is a fast-drying adhesive that can be cured in 2 to 3 seconds. This adhesive is more expensive.
